What is Vufone? 2 premium accounts up for grabs

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

vufone is a personal utility that gives its users the power to manage their mobile phone on the web. The vufone team believes that your mobile phone should be a natural part of your digital life - and that means that you own your mobile content regardless of the network you are using or the model of the phone you hold in your hands.

Being an integral part of your digital life also means that you should not be limited to mobile services that are offered by mobile operators or handset vendors. Whether you want to use Microsoft Outlook to manage your calendar, use Gmail as your source for phone contacts, Flickr as your photo repository, YouTube as your video community or Facebook as your social network - every internet service you use should be seamlessly and easily integrated to your mobile phone.”

The guys over at vufone also believe that “these services should be available to mass market phones - they therefore offer support for a wide range of mobile devices” including but not limited to Windows Mobile and Symbian smartphones. They have also added support for Java based mainstream phones live Nokia, SonyEricsson, Motorola, Samsung and LG.

Vufone lets you:

  • Backup

– Contacts, SMSs, MP3, Video, calendar, tasks, etc.
– Automatic, periodic & near real time
– Over the air

  • Sync

– Two way sync with MS Outlook meetings, tasks or Google Calendar & contacts to your phone
– Manage your phone contacts and calendar on the web

  • Share

The power of the internet and Zoopy: Part 1

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

So yesterday while surfing over at Zoopy.com I came across this video:

At first I wasn’t to excited about this, a few university students throwing a piano off a 10 story building, yippi, whats the big rush? So I left a cheeky comment on the Zoopy wall.

“Why would you wanna throw a piano off a 10 story building? Ever heard of ebay or in South Africa - Bidorbuy.co.za? Maybe if you gona film it in extreme slow motion.  Wow what a waste..”

So within moments I get the following response from the author Simondavo:

“Don’t ask me, I didn’t throw it off the buidling… This video was taken about 2 or so years ago, and was taken from a mobile phone! Thats why the bad quality! Yesterday I filmed a fridge being thrown off the 10th story, Ill make it slow motion just for you:)”

Would you believe my surprise when today I see this video on Zoopy:

At first I did’t beleive it, they actually threw a fridge off the building as well and as promised it’s in Slow motion. Then just to make me laugh even louder they added a remix of the original video of the piano, only this time it’s falling in slow motion to the sounds of I beleive I can fly. lol

Thanx for making me laugh dude, oh and btw lets see a mini (as in the car) come flying off that roof next ;-)

Wow the internet is powerful
